Lined Dartfish

The Lined Dartfish (Ptereleotris grammica) is a peaceful species that is reef-safe, admired for its elegant slender body, iridescent horizontal lines, subtle color shifts, and graceful swimming behavior. Males typically have slightly brighter coloration and may exhibit more bold behavior, especially during breeding displays, while females and juveniles tend to be more subdued in color and shyer in demeanor. They reach about 4 to 5 inches in adult size and should be housed in aquariums of at least 30 gallons.

Provide open swimming space along with a sandy substrate, scattered live rock, and multiple hiding spots. Keep water parameters stable (salinity ~1.020-1.025, temp ~72-79°F, pH ~8.1-8.4), and always use a secure, tight-fitting lid, as dartfish are known jumpers. Diet should consist of meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, copepods, and finely chopped seafood or high-quality pellets. With proper care and a calm tank environment, the Lined Dartfish makes a graceful and eye-catching addition to any reef or peaceful marine aquarium.

Several species will be import-to-order and may take anywhere from 3-10 business days to secure. Once your fish is secured, you will be notified, and the quarantine process will then begin.
