Laboute's Fairy Wrasse

Laboute’s Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus laboutei) is a reef-safe species with a peaceful temperament that rewards keepers with bold color and elegant movement. Males reach about 5 inches in size, showing magenta-striped flanks, lavender-blue undersides, and brighter, more intense colors on the head when courting; females and juveniles are more subdued with reddish stripes and paler body tones. Best kept in tanks of at least 90 gallons, with a deep fine sand bed, plenty of live rock for hiding/grazing, stable tropical water parameters (salinity ~1.020-1.025, temp ~72-79°F, pH ~8.1-8.4), and a tight lid because this wrasse is known to jump. Diet should be meaty: live copepods or amphipods, frozen mysis and brine shrimp, and premium pellets once feeding reliably.
