(Rabaulichthys cf. suzuki) is a peaceful species that is reef-safe, admired for its striking coloration, elegant sail-like dorsal fin, compact size, and rarity in the aquarium trade. Males typically display vibrant shades of pink, orange, and yellow with an extended dorsal fin that gives the "sailfin" appearance, making them a stunning centerpiece in nano to mid-sized reef aquariums, while females/juveniles are smaller and exhibit more subtle coloration—usually softer pinks or peach tones—with a less pronounced dorsal fin. They reach about 2 to 2.5 inches in length and should be housed in aquariums of at least 40 gallons, with larger tanks preferred for groups or harem setups.

Provide ample live rock for hiding spots, low to moderate flow, open swimming space, and subdued lighting, stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020–1.025, temp ~72–79°F, pH ~8.1–8.4), and a secure lid since this species may jump, especially when newly introduced. Diet should consist of frequent, small feedings of meaty items like mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, copepods, finely chopped seafood, and occasional high-quality marine pellets or flakes. With proper care and a peaceful tank environment, this rare and exquisite anthias makes a standout addition to any reef aquarium.
