Indigo Dottyback

My species/animal is a fish, the Indigo Dottyback (Pseudochromis sankeyi x fridmani). It is a semi-aggressive species that is reef-safe with caution, admired for its beautiful deep indigo and purple coloration, sleek body, and vibrant contrast between its purple and orange hues.

Males typically display a more intense color contrast with deeper indigo shades and are slightly larger, while females/juveniles have more subtle coloration, with lighter hues and smaller size. They reach about 3 inches in length and should be housed in aquariums of at least 30 gallons.

Provide live rock with plenty of hiding spots and open swimming space, stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020-1.025, temp ~72-79°F, pH ~8.1-8.4), and a secure lid since many species are prone to jumping.

Diet should consist of mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, high-quality pellets, and other meaty foods, and with proper care this fish makes a standout addition to the aquarium.
