Hawaiian Dragon Moray Eel

Fish Hawaiian Dragon Moray Eel (Enchelycore pardalis) is an aggressive species that is reef-safe with caution, admired for its vibrant red, orange, yellow, and white coloration, striking dragon-like head shape, elongated jaws with sharp teeth, and unique patterning.

Males typically display slightly more vivid coloration and larger body mass, while females/juveniles tend to be smaller with less intense coloration until maturity.

They reach about 36 inches (3 feet) in adulthood and should be housed in aquariums of at least 180 gallons. Provide ample live rock with caves and hiding spots, a sandy substrate, and secure rockwork, along with a tight-fitting lid since they are known escape artists. Stable water parameters are required (salinity ~1.020–1.025, temp ~72–79°F, pH ~8.1–8.4).

Diet should consist of meaty foods such as fresh or frozen squid, shrimp, octopus, fish, and other marine flesh, as they are strict carnivores (not algae or pellet feeders). With proper care, this eel makes a spectacular showpiece predator and a highly prized addition to large, predator-style aquariums.
