Harlequin Shrimp

The Harlequin Shrimp (Hymenocera picta) is a peaceful species that is reef-safe with caution, admired for its striking coloration, intricate patterns, and unique feeding habits. Males typically are slightly smaller and slimmer, while females are larger with broader abdomens. They reach about 2 inches in size and should be housed in aquariums of at least 20 gallons. Provide plenty of live rock and hiding spots with stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020–1.025, temp ~72–79°F, pH ~8.1–8.4), and a secure lid since many species are prone to escaping or climbing. Diet should consist of starfish (their natural prey), primarily species like chocolate chip or asterina stars, and they will not accept substitute foods. With proper care, this invertebrate makes a stunning and unique showpiece in the aquarium.

Several species will be import-to-order and may take anywhere from 3-10 business days to secure. Once your fish is secured, you will be notified, and the quarantine process will then begin.
