Green Wolf Eel Blenny

Green Wolf Eel Blenny [Congrogadus subducens]. It is a semi-aggressive species that is reef-safe with caution, admired for its elongated eel-like body, striking green coloration, unique swimming motion, and predatory yet fascinating behavior.

Males typically grow larger, often displaying more intense coloration and slightly bulkier heads, while females/juveniles remain smaller, with more subdued shades of green to brown.

They reach about 18 inches in adulthood and should be housed in aquariums of at least 75 gallons. Provide ample live rock, caves, and hiding spots, along with some open swimming space, and always ensure a secure lid, as they are known escape artists.

Diet should consist of meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, krill, chopped seafood, silversides, and high-quality carnivore pellets, though they may also accept live feeder shrimp or small fish. With proper care, this fish makes a standout, eel-like showpiece in the aquarium, though tankmates should be chosen carefully to avoid smaller fish or inverts being eaten.
