Green Clown Goby

The Green Clown Goby (Gobiodon histrio) is a peaceful species that is reef-safe with caution, admired for its bright green coloration, compact size, and charismatic personality. Males typically exhibit brighter green hues and can display territorial behavior, while females/juveniles tend to be slightly smaller with a more muted green tone. They reach about 1.5 inches and should be housed in aquariums of at least 10 gallons.

Provide live rock with plenty of small crevices and coral branches for hiding, minimal sandbed, and some open swimming space, stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020-1.025, temp ~72-79°F, pH ~8.1-8.4), and a secure lid since many gobies are prone to jumping. Diet should consist of small meaty foods like mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, and high-quality micro-pellets or flakes, and with proper care this fish makes a standout addition to the aquarium.
