Green Bulb Anemone

The Green Bulb Anemone (Entacmaea quadricolor).
It is a semi-aggressive species that is reef-safe with caution, admired for its vibrant green coloration, bulbous tentacle tips, and ability to host clownfish in symbiosis.

Males typically do not show distinct sexual dimorphism (sexes are not visibly different in anemones), while juveniles start smaller with less pronounced bulbs that develop as they mature.

They reach about 6–12 inches in diameter (with some individuals expanding larger under ideal conditions) and should be housed in aquariums of at least 30 gallons.

Provide ample live rock for attachment, moderate-to-strong flow, and stable lighting (they rely heavily on symbiotic zooxanthellae for energy). Maintain stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020–1.025, temp ~72–79°F, pH ~8.1–8.4), and ensure rockwork is secure since anemones may wander to find their preferred location.

Diet should consist of occasional feedings of meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, silversides, or other finely chopped seafood, though they receive most of their energy from light through photosynthesis.

With proper care, this anemone makes a standout addition to reef aquariums, both as a centerpiece and as a natural host for clownfish species.
