Golden Rhomboid Fairy Wrasse

Golden Rhomboid Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus rhomboidalis) is a rare and stunning fairy wrasse prized by advanced keepers. It has a peaceful temperament and is reef-safe, though very small invertebrates may be at risk. Males show a golden yellow body with a light blue head and bold purple or electric blue maze-like markings on the flanks; females are generally more subdued with less gold and paler markings. Grows to about 4½ inches in adult size. Best kept in tanks of at least 90 gallons, with a deep fine sandbed for burrowing and resting, plentiful live rock for hiding, moderate to subdued lighting, stable water parameters, and a tight lid since wrasses of this type are prone to jumping. Its diet should be rich and varied: live copepods and amphipods, frozen mysis and brine shrimp, supplemented by high-quality pellets once feeding reliably. Because of its limited natural range, rarity, and sensitivity, this is a trophy specimen for dedicated and experienced marine aquarists.
