Golden Red Aurantia Angelfish, Bali Aquarich

The Golden Angelfish (Centropyge aurantia) is a peaceful to semi-aggressive species that is considered reef-safe with caution, admired for its brilliant golden-orange coloration, delicate red highlights, shy nature, and rarity in the aquarium trade.

Males typically display slightly bolder coloration and more territorial behavior, while females/juveniles are smaller, more reserved, and less vivid in color until maturity.

They reach about 4 inches (10 cm) in length and should be housed in aquariums of at least 55 gallons. Provide ample live rock with caves and hiding spots, a mature reef setup, and stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020–1.025, temp 72–79°F, pH 8.1–8.4). A secure lid is recommended since angelfish may dart suddenly when startled.

Diet should consist of a variety of foods: enriched mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, high-quality angelfish pellets, spirulina, and marine algae. Occasional grazing on filamentous algae and sponges also supports their health.
