The Flame 'Solar Flare' Angelfish (Centropyge loriculus) is a semi-aggressive species that is reef-safe with caution. This vibrant fish is admired for its striking orange-red body adorned with vertical black bars and electric blue accents on the fins. Males are typically larger and exhibit more intense coloration compared to females or juveniles. They can reach up to 4 inches in length and should be housed in aquariums of at least 50 gallons. Providing ample live rock and hiding spots is essential, as these fish are natural grazers and enjoy exploring crevices. Stable water parameters—salinity around 1.020–1.025, temperature between 72–79°F, and pH levels from 8.1 to 8.4—are crucial for their well-being. Additionally, a secure lid is necessary, as many species are prone to jumping. Their diet should consist of a variety of foods, including mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, algae, and high-quality pellets.
