Ember Blenny

The Ember Blenny (Cirripectes stigmaticus) is a peaceful species that is reef-safe, admired for its vibrant orange-red coloration, intricate facial markings, small size, and engaging personality. Males typically display brighter, more intense coloration and pronounced markings, often becoming territorial during breeding, while females and juveniles tend to be slightly paler, smaller, and more reserved.

This species reaches about 3–4 inches in length and should be housed in aquariums of at least 55 gallons. Their ideal environment includes a well-established sandbed, plenty of live rock, ample hiding spots, and open swimming space, along with stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020–1.025, temperature ~72–79°F, pH ~8.1–8.4). A secure lid is essential, as Ember Blennies are known to be agile jumpers.

Their diet should consist of a mix of mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, high-quality pellets, and algae sheets to ensure optimal health and vibrant coloration. With proper care, the Ember Blenny is a charming and standout addition to any reef aquarium, offering both beauty and personality.
