Diamond Tail Flasher Wrasse

Diamond Tail Flasher Wrasse (Paracheilinus attenuatus) is a rare, reef-safe, peaceful flasher wrasse that absolutely steals the show with its diamond-shaped tail, vibrant colors, and bold flashes during courtship. Males display fiery reds and oranges with horizontal blue striping, a yellow abdomen, and a multi-colored dorsal fin with extended rays; females and juveniles are more subdued, with softer hues and rounded fins. It grows to about 3 inches in adult size. Best kept in aquarium environments of at least 50-75 gallons, with plenty of live rock for hiding & rockwork for foraging, open swim space, stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020-1.025; temp ~72-78°F; pH ~8.1-8.4), and a tight lid since this species is an expert jumper. Diet should be carnivorous and frequent: vitamin-enriched frozen mysis & brine shrimp, small meaty foods, and high-quality marine pellets to bring out its brightest colors.
