Debelius Reef Lobster

The Debelius Reef Lobster (Enoplometopus debelius) is a peaceful species that is reef-safe, admired for its vivid purple coloration, bright yellow spots, striking banded legs, and relatively small, compact size. Males typically exhibit more intense coloration and slightly larger claws, while females and juveniles have softer hues but maintain the distinctive spotted and banded patterns. They reach about 3-4 inches in adult size and should be housed in aquariums of at least 20 gallons. Provide a sandy substrate with abundant live rock and plenty of hiding spots, stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020-1.025, temperature ~72-79°F, pH ~8.1-8.4), and a secure lid since many lobsters are prone to climbing or jumping. Diet should consist of meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, and quality crustacean pellets, and with proper care, this lobster makes a vibrant and fascinating addition to the aquarium.
