Colored Beaded Anemone

Colored Beaded Anemone (Heteractis aurora) is a semi-aggressive species that is reef-safe with caution, admired for vibrant coloration, beaded tentacle patterns, large size, and striking symbiotic relationships with clownfish.

Males typically are similar in appearance to females but may be slightly larger and more vividly colored when mature, especially during breeding periods, while females/juveniles tend to be smaller with more subtle coloration and less-developed tentacle structures.

They reach about 12–14 inches (30–35 cm) and should be housed in aquariums of at least 50 gallons.

Provide a deep sandbed, live rock, hiding spots, and open swimming space, along with stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020–1.025, temperature ~72–79°F, pH ~8.1–8.4), and a secure lid since many anemone species are prone to jumping.

Diet should consist of mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, chopped seafood (fish/shrimp), and occasionally pellets designed for carnivorous invertebrates.

With proper care, this anemone makes a standout addition to the aquarium, offering vibrant color and fascinating symbiotic behavior.
