The Coco's Pygmy Angelfish (Centropyge cocosensis) is a semi-aggressive species that is reef-safe with caution, admired for its vibrant coloration, intricate patterns, and small, manageable size. Males typically display brighter colors and more pronounced patterns, while females and juveniles tend to be slightly duller but equally attractive. They reach about 3 inches in length and should be housed in aquariums of at least 30 gallons. A proper tank setup includes a sandbed, abundant live rock for grazing, plenty of hiding spots, and open swimming space to mimic their natural reef habitat. Maintaining stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020–1.025, temperature ~72–79°F, pH ~8.1–8.4) is crucial, along with a secure lid since this species is known to jump. Their diet should consist of a variety of mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, marine pellets, and algae to ensure optimal health. With proper care, Coco's Pygmy Angelfish is a stunning and active addition to a marine aquarium.
