Unless marked, all livestock comes with our 15-Day Guarantee. You will receive a video of your fish eating before shipment. For size preference please add a note on your order and we will match your fish to your requested size. If you just want the fish without our QT process, Please email us directly with your order number. Please note this does waive the 15 day guarantee.

The Cherry Dottyback (Pholidochromis cerasina) is a semi-aggressive species that is reef-safe, admired for its vibrant cherry-red coloration, slender profile, moderate size, and bold personality. This rare and visually striking species adds a pop of color and activity to reef aquariums, especially in contrast with live rock and coral.
Males typically grow slightly larger and display deeper, more intense red coloration, especially during mating displays or territorial behavior. Females and juveniles are often slightly paler and more reserved in behavior, though still brightly colored.
They reach about 3 inches in adult size and should be housed in aquariums of at least 30 gallons. Provide plenty of live rock with caves and hiding places to allow for territory establishment and natural behavior. Open swimming space is also appreciated, especially for more confident individuals.

A secure lid is essential, as dottybacks are known jumpers—especially when stressed or exploring new surroundings.
Diet should consist of a varied mix of mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, finely chopped marine meats, and high-quality pellets or flakes. A diet rich in carotenoids will help maintain and enhance their red coloration.
With proper care, the Cherry Dottyback makes a vibrant and energetic addition to the marine aquarium. As with most dottybacks, it’s best housed with fish of similar size and temperament to avoid territorial disputes.

On request, we also send photos/videos after arrival at IA. Some species are import-to-order (3-10 business days). Many common species are already cleared or near the end of QT.
Several species will be import-to-order and may take anywhere from 3-10 business days to secure. Once your fish is secured, you will be notified, and the quarantine process will then begin.
