Bluestriped Angelfish

The Bluestriped Angelfish (Chaetodontoplus septentrionalis) is a semi-aggressive species that is considered reef-safe with caution, admired for its striking blue and yellow horizontal stripes, bold coloration, and graceful swimming patterns.

Males typically display more vibrant coloration and may grow slightly larger, while females and juveniles tend to have subtler tones and less defined striping. They reach about 7–8 inches in adult size and should be housed in aquariums of at least 120 gallons. Provide ample live rock with hiding spots, caves, and grazing surfaces, along with open swimming space to support natural behavior.

Maintain stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020–1.025, temperature ~72–79°F, pH ~8.1–8.4), and ensure a secure lid since angelfish are known to jump.

Their diet should consist of a variety of mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, enriched pellets, spirulina, and marine algae to ensure proper nutrition. With attentive care and the right environment, the Bluestriped Angelfish makes a striking and rewarding addition to a large marine aquarium.
