The Blue Throat Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus cyanogularis) is a reef-safe fish with a peaceful temperament that rewards keen aquarists with spectacular, eye-catching color. Males display a bright blue throat beneath orange-red body tones, fine white stripe accents, and vivid finnage; females are more uniformly orange to red with subtle striping. Grows to about 4 inches. Best kept in tanks of at least 90 gallons, with ample live rock for hiding/grazing, open water for swimming, stable water (SG ~1.020-1.025; temp ~72-79°F; pH ~8.1-8.4), and a tight cover to prevent jumping. It should be fed a diet rich in meaty items — live or frozen mysis and brine shrimp, copepods, plus quality flakes or pellets.
