Curious Wormfish Blenny

Curius Wormfish (Gunnellichthys curiosus), a semi-aggressive species that is reef-safe with caution, admired for its vivid blue and white stripes, striking facial patterns, compact size, and unique mimicry behavior. Males typically exhibit brighter, more pronounced stripes and slightly larger bodies, intensifying their coloration during territorial displays, while females and juveniles are smaller with softer coloration and thinner stripes, making them less conspicuous in the reef environment.

They reach about 3–4 inches (7.5–10 cm) in length and should be housed in aquariums of at least 30 gallons. Provide a fine sand bed, abundant live rock with crevices and hiding spots, and open swimming spaces to encourage natural behavior and reduce stress. Stable water parameters are essential, with salinity at ~1.020–1.025, temperature ~72–79°F (22–26°C), and pH ~8.1–8.4. A secure lid is necessary since many blenny species are prone to jumping.

Diet should consist of a variety of meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, high-quality pellets, and occasional marine treats to ensure optimum health and vibrant coloration. With proper care, the Blue Striped Fang Blenny makes a unique, energetic, and visually captivating addition to any marine aquarium.
