The Blue Star Leopard Wrasse (Macropharyngodon bipartitus) is a highly prized, reef-safe species with a peaceful temperament, though it can be shy and requires patience to thrive. It shows dramatic color differences between sexes: females and juveniles have mottled reds, oranges, and yellows with light blue spots and a dark patch on the belly; males develop pronounced green, blue, and red spots and stripes with black outlines as they mature. Best kept in tanks of at least 50 gallons with fine sand substrate for burrowing, abundant live rock, stable water parameters, and a tight cover to prevent escape. Diet must be varied: live copepods and small crustaceans, frozen mysis and brine, plus high-quality pellets once acclimated. Because of its sensitivity and rarity, this wrasse delivers a stunning display in the hands of experienced keepers.

International Aquatics Quarantine & Guarantee: All fish are checked by marine vets, given a formalin bath, and held for 14 days in copper-treated systems. We feed Selcon-soaked food with Kanaplex and Metroplex during quarantine. Unless marked, all livestock comes with our 15-Day Guarantee. You will receive a video of your fish eating before shipment. On request, we also send photos/videos after arrival at IA. Some species are import-to-order (3-10 business days). Many common species are already cleared or near the end of QT. Sensitive species (Leopard Wrasses, Tamarin Wrasses, Deepwater species) have a small extra QT fee due to their special needs.

Several species will be import-to-order and may take anywhere from 3-10 business days to secure. Once your fish is secured, you will be notified, and the quarantine process will then begin.
