Blackfin Fairy Wrasse

The Blackfin Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus melanomarginatus) is a reef-safe species with a semi-aggressive temperament; males are far more colorful than females, showing striking contrasts with dark margins on the fins. It grows to about 5-6 inches in adult size. Best kept in tanks of at least 100 gallons (some sources say 125 gal or more for larger specimens), with ample live rock for hiding and grazing, open swimming space, and stable water parameters. Diet should be rich in meaty frozen foods like mysis and brine shrimp, supplemented with high-quality pellets or flakes. Because of its sensitivity, peaceful tankmates, and a secure lid are highly recommended.
