Black Storm Ocellaris Clownfish

Black Storm Ocellaris Clownfish (Amphiprion ocellaris) is a peaceful to semi-aggressive species that is reef-safe, admired for its striking black-and-white coloration, bold blotched patterns, and unique designer morph appearance.

Males typically remain smaller, reaching around 2–3 inches, and may exhibit submissive behavior such as “shaking” when paired, while females/juveniles grow larger (up to ~4 inches), becoming the dominant member of a pair. They reach about 3–4 inches in adulthood and should be housed in aquariums of at least 20–30 gallons.

Provide ample live rock for hiding spots, a sandbed, and open swimming space, along with stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020–1.025, temperature 72–79°F, pH ~8.1–8.4). A secure lid is recommended, as clownfish may occasionally jump.

Diet should consist of a varied mix of mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, copepods, high-quality marine pellets, and some algae-based foods. With proper care, this fish makes a standout addition to reef aquariums, often hosting in anemones or adapting to alternative coral/rock structures.
