Bimaculatus Anthias

The Bimaculatus Anthias (Pseudanthias bimaculatus) is a peaceful species that is reef-safe, admired for its vibrant pink-to-reddish coloration, distinctive twin spots near the pectoral fins, and active mid-water swimming behavior. Males typically exhibit brighter, more intense coloration with elongated dorsal and anal fin rays, while females/juveniles are generally smaller and display more subdued pink hues. They reach about 5 inches in length and should be housed in aquariums of at least 70 gallons.

Provide plenty of live rock for hiding, open swimming space, and a secure lid since many anthias are prone to jumping. Maintain stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020–1.025, temperature ~72–79°F, pH ~8.1–8.4).

Diet should consist of meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, copepods, and high-quality marine pellets fed multiple times per day due to their high metabolism. With proper care, this fish makes a standout addition to the aquarium.
