Bigscale Parma Damselfish

Bigscale Parma Damselfish ([Parma oligolepis]) is a [semi-aggressive] species that is [reef-safe with caution], admired for [its striking iridescent blue and green coloration, large scale patterns, compact body shape, and territorial behavior]. Males typically [display more vibrant coloration with intense blue-green hues, especially during breeding, and guard territories aggressively], while females/juveniles [are slightly duller in color, often displaying a more muted blue or green with less distinct scale patterns]. They reach about [5–6 inches] and should be housed in aquariums of at least [50 gallons].

Provide [live rock, hiding spots, open swimming space, and moderate sandbed areas], stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020–1.025, temperature ~72–79°F, pH ~8.1–8.4), and a secure lid since many damselfish are prone to jumping. Diet should consist of [mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, high-quality pellets, and marine algae], and with proper care this fish makes a standout addition to the aquarium.
