Bicolor Angelfish

Bicolor Angelfish (Centropyge bicolor). It is a semi-aggressive species that is reef-safe with caution, admired for its striking yellow-and-blue coloration, unique patterns, moderate size, and active personality.

Males typically look similar to females in coloration, but can be slightly larger and may display dominance behaviors, while females/juveniles share the same bright yellow front half and deep blue rear half, with subtle size and behavior differences.

They reach about 5.5–6 inches in adult size and should be housed in aquariums of at least 70 gallons. Provide ample live rock with hiding spots, grazing surfaces for algae, and open swimming space, along with stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020–1.025, temp ~72–79°F, pH ~8.1–8.4), and a secure lid since many species are prone to jumping.

Diet should consist of a varied mix of mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, high-quality angelfish pellets, spirulina, and marine algae. With proper care, this fish makes a standout addition to the aquarium, though caution is advised with corals and clams, as they may nip at sessile invertebrates.
