Bellus Angelfish, Female

The Bellus Angelfish, Female (Genicanthus bellus) is a peaceful species that is reef-safe, admired for its elegant shape, striking horizontal striping, graceful swimming behavior, and adaptability in aquaria.

Males typically display more vivid coloration with bold horizontal black, blue, and orange lines, and elongated tail streamers, while females/juveniles are subtler in appearance, with silver to white bodies accented by black horizontal stripes along the flanks.

They reach about 7 inches in adult size and should be housed in aquariums of at least 125 gallons. Provide ample live rock for grazing and hiding spots, along with plenty of open swimming space, stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020–1.025, temp ~72–79°F, pH ~8.1–8.4), and a secure lid since this species is known to jump.

Diet should consist of a varied mix of mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, copepods, quality marine pellets, spirulina, and other algae-based foods. With proper care, this fish makes a graceful and striking addition to a reef or peaceful community aquarium.
