Multibarred Angelfish, Bali Aquarich

The Banded Multifasciatus Angelfish, Bali Aquarich (Paracentropyge multifasciata) is a semi-aggressive species that is reef-safe with caution, admired for its distinctive black-and-white vertical bands, compact size, and striking beauty that makes it highly sought after in the aquarium trade.

Males typically exhibit slightly larger size and more vivid striping, while females/juveniles tend to be smaller, with subtler coloration. They reach about 4 inches in adult size and should be housed in aquariums of at least 70 gallons.

Provide ample live rock with caves and hiding spots, a mature sandbed, and areas of open swimming space. Stable water parameters are essential: salinity 1.020–1.025, temperature 72–79°F, and pH 8.1–8.4. A secure lid is recommended, as angelfish can be prone to jumping.

Their diet should consist of frozen mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, copepods, marine pellets, sponge-based angelfish formulas, and some marine algae or spirulina to ensure proper nutrition. With proper care, this rare and beautiful species makes a standout centerpiece in a saltwater aquarium.
