Annularis Angelfish, Sub Adult

The Annularis Angelfish, Sub Adult (Pomacanthus annularis). It is a semi-aggressive species that is reef-safe with caution, admired for its brilliant blue and yellow coloration, striking circular “annular” patterns, large size, and graceful swimming behavior.

Males typically grow larger and display slightly more vivid coloration, while females and juveniles often have bolder stripes and less pronounced patterning. They reach about 12–18 inches in adulthood and should be housed in aquariums of at least 220 gallons.

Provide ample live rock for grazing and hiding spots, a sandy substrate, and large open swimming areas. Stable water parameters are essential: salinity 1.020–1.025, temperature 72–79°F, and pH 8.1–8.4. A secure lid is strongly recommended, as angelfish may dart upward when startled.

Diet should consist of a varied mix of mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, high-quality marine angelfish pellets, marine algae, and sponge-based foods. With proper care, this fish becomes a stunning centerpiece species and a standout addition to any large marine aquarium.
