Annularis Angelfish, Juvenile (Pomacanthus annularis). It is a semi-aggressive species that is reef-safe with caution, admired for its brilliant coloration, striking juvenile patterns, large size, and unique transformation as it matures.

Males typically display the same coloration as females but may grow slightly larger and appear more dominant, while juveniles exhibit bold concentric blue-and-white ring patterns that gradually transform into the golden body with blue-ring markings of adults.

They reach about 12–18 inches in length at full adult size and should be housed in aquariums of at least 220 gallons. Provide ample live rock for grazing and hiding, along with open swimming space. A sandbed is optional but beneficial for a natural environment. Stable water parameters are essential (salinity ~1.020–1.025, temperature ~72–79°F, pH ~8.1–8.4), and the tank should have a secure lid since angelfish can be active swimmers.

Diet should consist of a varied mix of meaty foods (mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, chopped seafood, copepods), quality angelfish pellets, marine algae, and sponge-based preparations. With proper care, this fish makes a standout showpiece addition to a large marine aquarium.
