The Anglerfish, Assorted (Antennarius sp.) is a semi-aggressive species that is reef-safe with caution, admired for its vibrant and variable coloration, intricate skin textures, and unique lure used to attract prey.

Males typically are smaller and more elusive, rarely seen in captivity, while females/juveniles tend to be larger, more robust, and display a wider range of bright colors and patterns. They reach about 4–6 inches and should be housed in aquariums of at least 30 gallons.

Provide plenty of live rock and hiding spots to mimic their natural ambush habitat, stable water parameters (salinity ~1.020-1.025, temp ~72-79°F, pH ~8.1-8.4), and a secure lid since many species are prone to jumping.

Diet should consist of live or frozen meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, silversides, and occasionally gut-loaded feeder shrimp. With patience, they may be trained to accept frozen alternatives. With proper care, this fish makes a standout addition to the aquarium, captivating observers with its striking appearance and fascinating behavior.
